INTRODUCTION
EZSnap is a Terminate but Stay Resident (TSR) program, which
means that it is loaded once, and requested by pressing a
special sequence of keys. This enables you to take a quick
"snap-shot" of a programs' screen while the program is
running.
REQUIREMENTS
To use EZSnap, you need the following computer equipment:
An IBM PS/2, PC/AT, or Compatible Machine
A Minimum of 128K RAM
One Floppy Disk or Fixed Disk
A CGA, EGA, or VGA Color Display
INSTALLATION
If you haven't already done so, use the DOS COPY command to
install EZSnap on your hard disk. You may want to install
EZSnap each time you start your computer. That way, it will
automatically be available at any time. Simply include the
line "EZSNAP" in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
EZSnap may also installed at any time from the DOS prompt.
When you load EZSnap, it will allocate the memory it needs
to function, and will display the following message:
EZPop to display a screen:
EZSnap Screen Capture Program Now Resident.
Old vector = xxxx:xxxx
Press [Ctrl]-[Alt]-[S] to Activate.
Use [/U] Command Line Switch to Uninstall.
The "xxxx:xxxx:" as pictured above will actually report an
hexidecimal address value, and is provided for information
only. The actual value reported will vary from system to
system.
SCREEN IMAGE FILE FORMAT
EZSnap was designed to function with the EZScreen system.
The program will create files which are fully compatible
with the EZScreen editor and the EZPop display utility. The
program will append a file extension of "EZS" to the target
filename unless you supply a DOS extension.

RUNNING EZSnap
To bring EZSnap to the foreground, simply press the [Ctrl],
[Alt], and [S] keys simultaneously. After doing so, you'll
see the program banner appear in the upper-left corner of
your display. It is here that you supply the filename for
the current screen. Keyin any valid DOS filename, including
the path, and press the [Enter] key. Press [Esc] to cancel
the save process. EZSnap will return to its' prior dormant
state, and wait for your next screen save request.
EZSnap may be uninstalled or removed from memory by keying
in the program name followed by the "/U" command line switch.
This will return approximately 13K of memory for use by DOS.
In order to remove EZSnap, it must have been the LAST TSR
loaded into memory. If you've loaded a TSR after EZSnap, you
must first uninstall it, then unload EZSnap.
EZSnap will refuse to be loaded more than once. In other
words, if it's already resident and you keyin "EZSNAP" from
the DOS prompt, you'll receive a message similar to the one
pictured below:
EZSnap Program Already Resident In Memory.
Press [Ctrl]-[Alt]-[S] to Activate.
COMPATIBILITY
We have tested EZSnap with most popular software packages,
and other popular TSR programs as well, and have found it
to be very reliable in service. However, due to the nature
of this type of program, conflicts can occur. If you
experience problems using EZSnap, please fully describe the
symtom(s) that occured, and the conditions present at the
time of the malfunction (i.e. software, function you were
previously performing). Write to us with this information
and we will attempt to resolve the problem.
